Poem Trade

I co-wrote this poem with Jake Dirnberger. We alternated stanzas. He wrote the first, i the second, he the third, and so forth.

Earth and sky
cradled
by mountains and rivers

Mountains and rivers
cradled
by the palm of emptiness

Emptiness and form
cradled
by body and mind

Body and mind
cradled
by the unheard melody
 of existence.

I so could've picked out who wrote what, before you even said it..

Jake's all straightforward and understated.

You're all hey-this-string-of-words-sounds-pretty... "palm of emptiness" and "unheard melody of existence." Jake couldn't write those words, but he'd coax them out of you.
